CABIT has one aim – to train electric cargo bike riders to drive safely and efficiently.

By developing an innovative, consistent and universal training program the project will ensure that e-cargo bike riders will begin to have access to relevant and transferable training, accepted across the countries of the partnership. As part of project dissemination, the training program devised will be presented to the European Cycle Logistics Federation and national equivalents for approval and adoption across the entire EU, hence increasing exponentially the reach of the project results.

Project Stages

Output 1

Curriculum Design and Development

A detailed investigation across the partnership of the knowledge, skills, and competences required by e-cargo bike riders, and a curriculum to improve these areas, including learning materials, content, methodologies, and technical tools.

Output 2


Will take the learning materials developed, preferred training methodologies and techniques, and practical tools, and assemble these into a user-friendly Toolkit that will be made accessible to enterprises across partnering countries to use with their e-cargo bike riders.

Output 3


Developing an E-learning platform to be included in the Toolkit and which will enable end-users, i.e. e-cargo bike riders, to access all of the training activities and materials devised, in a traditional web-based e-learning format.

Output 4

Mobile Application

Will produce a mobile phone app, for both iOS and Android systems, that will enable end users, i.e. e-cargo bike riders, to access the training activities and materials produced in the most user friendly way possible for people in a mobile, fast moving work role.

Output 5

Training Manual

Will provide a traditional comprehensive guide to the training content and materials produced by the project, primarily for people in a training role in the companies employing e-cargo bike riders, who may wish to be able to access the training for their staff and help them to gain the maximum benefit from it.
